Hillsboro Police Department reports

The Hillsboro Police Department has released the following information:

June 25

INCIDENT

At 11:40 p.m. the police department received information from the Ross County Adult Parole Authority that 39-year-old Lisa Davis had fled from the Terry Collins Entry Center, a halfway house in Chillicothe. Davis had been residing there due to a felony five drug possession charge. Davis was last seen on June 25, 2017 at approximately 11 p.m. walking out of the front door and was advised she may be in or around the Brown County area.

On June 27, the police department received information that Davis had been picked up in a vehicle registered to her family business in Hillsboro. Officers located the vehicle behind a residence in the 100 block of South Glenn Street. Contact was made with the resident who advised officers that Davis was inside. Davis was apprehended without incident and transported to the Highland County Jail to await extradition back to Ross County.

June 26

ACCIDENT

At 7:59 a.m., the police department responded to a crash in the 600 block of North High Street. Upon officer arrival it was found that Brittany L. Barnett, 32, of Hillsboro, operating a white 2009 Chevrolet SUV, failed to observe traffic was stopped and struck the rear of Ryan L. Swisshelm’s, 29, of Hillsboro, 2009 Toyota sedan. Barnett was cited for assured cleared distance.

INCIDENT

At 10:45 a.m., the police department took a report of a vehicle being damaged and a wallet and personal items being stolen from the vehicle within the 300 block of West Main Street.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS

Anthony Robert Canter, 29, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a bench warrant for a probation violation.
