Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports that for the week of Aug. 7-13, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 304 911 calls, answered 136 requests for service, dispatched 134 fire and EMS runs, took 38 offense reports and investigated one traffic crash.

At 4:35 p.m. on Aug. 10 a resident of the 10000 block of North Shore Drive called the sheriff’s office to report the theft of two guitars. A deputy was dispatched to the residence and an offense report was taken.

On Aug. 12 at 9:22 p.m. the sheriff’s office received a report of a domestic dispute at a residence in the 9000 block of U.S. Route 62. Deputies responded to the scene and interviewed the male and female involved. Written statements were obtained and Timothy A. Cruea, 56, was arrested on one count of domestic violence.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence in the 5000 block of Murray Road at 7:21 p.m. on Aug. 13 after a citizen called the sheriff’s office to report a burglary. The homeowner returned to find someone had entered the residence and stolen several items. An offense report was taken.

A domestic dispute was reported to the sheriff’s office at 7:41 p.m. on Aug. 13. A citizen on West Welcome reported a verbal altercation between a husband and wife. Deputies responded to the scene and spoke with the parties involved. The dispute never became physical so no charges were necessary.
