First State supports local non-profits

As part of a companywide initiative, First State Bank embarked on a year of “giving back” to local charitable organizations. Since January 2015, more than 80 First State Bank employees have donated their time and talents to non-profit organizations across Adams, Brown, Highland and Fayette counties.

The organizations selected this year included the Brown County Humane Society in Georgetown, the Interfaith House in West Union, the Adams County Children’s Home in West Union, Our Daily Bread in Hillsboro, Good Samaritan in Hillsboro and United Way of Fayette County (planned for fall 2015). Projects to date have ranged from serving food, sorting items, stocking pantries, planning activities with children, and staffing a yard sale.

“As a locally owned and operated bank, we believe giving back to our local communities is extremely important”, said Mike Pell, president and CEO of First State Bank. “That is why we decided to launch this companywide program to volunteer our time and talents to support some of the local non-profits and charitable organizations that do so much to help our community.”

First State Bank has been a community institution since 1884. With locations in Adams, Brown, Highland and Fayette Counties, all banking center operations and management are locally controlled. To learn more about First State Bank, visit www.fsb4me.com.
