Local bikers, Beechwood Pizza hold fundraiser for mammograms

0

A group of local bikers worked in conjunction with Beechwood Pizza and held a fundraiser on Oct. 24 to help those unable to afford a screening mammogram. What started as an idea of Kari Noel’s for an event titled Tutus for Tatas grew quickly to an event that raised $1,104, which was given to the Highland District Hospital Foundation. The money was raised that evening by donations and proceeds from an auction which included items donated by Harley Davidson of Chillicothe and other individuals. Pictured, from left, are Melanie Gillespie; Cathy Jones, Highland District Hospital Foundation director; Tim Rosselott, owner of Beechwood Pizza; and Kari Noel, event coordinator. The donation will help provide screening mammograms for those qualifying for no cost mammograms available at a four-day event to be held Nov. 6 and 7 this year and March 11 and 12 of 2016, which is a joint project of Highland District Hospital and the Highland County Health Department. If you have questions regarding scheduling the mammograms, call 937-393-1941.
