Home Care Month, Home Health Care Aide Week recognized

On Thursday the Highland County Board of Commissioners made two proclamations, one for November as Home Care Month and another for Home Health Care Aide Week (Nov. 8-14).

Home Health Care nurses and aides, as well as Highland District Hospital administrators were at Thursday’s meeting and were presented the proclamations.

The home health care services provided by Highland District Hospital have been recognized nationally for excellence. Through HDH, home health aides provide front line, 24-hour professional care to assist patients, often with complex care needs, in remaining independent as long as possible. Home health care, and the nurses and aides who provide that care, help the elderly, disabled, and infirm remain in the comfort of their own homes.
