The Lynchburg Lions Club is selling bulk candy through December during regular business hours at Southern Hills Community Bank and Beechstreet Candleworks in Lynchburg. Fifteen different varieties are on sale.
Council committee meetings
A joint meeting of the Hillsboro Finance Committee and the Community Enhancement Committee is scheduled for 5 p.m. Dec. 10 in the Hillsboro City Building located at 130 N. High St., Hillsboro, to discuss the 2016 budget and the creation of an entertainment district in the uptown area.
The Hillsboro Property Maintenance and Restoration Committee will meet after the Finance/Community Enhancement Committee meeting in the same location to discuss revisions to the sign ordinance.
Rosengerber in Hillsboro
Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) will hold district office hours in Highland County at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11 in the large meeting room at the Highland County Administration Building, 119 Gov. Foraker Place, Hillsboro. The in-district office hours are for constituents from around the area to share their thoughts, one-on-one, with Rosenberger. Conversations about state government, state agencies, and related issues are welcomed. No appointment is necessary and all are encouraged to participate.
Mammogram van at The Laurels
The St. Elizabeth Hospital Mobile Mammography Van will be at The Laurels of Hillsboro from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15. Call 859-655-7400 to make an appointment. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.
Christmas concert in Greenfield
A Christmas concert by The Lore Family will be held at Greenfield’s Chapel of Hope, 12986 SR 41 North, on Wednesday, Dec. 16 at 7:30 p.m. Finger foods will be served following the service.

The Lynchburg-Clay Board of Education will meet in regular session at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16 at the high school library.
Buford Christmas Eve service
The Buford Church of Christ will hold its traditional Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24. Everyone is welcome. The church is located at 2457 SR 138 in Buford.
