Lynchburg Lions Club candy

The Lynchburg Lions Club is selling bulk candy through December during regular business hours at Southern Hills Community Bank and Beechstreet Candleworks in Lynchburg. Fifteen different varieties are on sale.

Commemorative McClain cards for Christmas

Sets of note cards made for the McClain centennial celebration are available for purchase. Each set is $5 and includes four cards depicting historical scenes and items relating to McClain. A color, commemorative post card is also included. Sets are available at the Greenfield schools central office and at The Times-Gazette.

Paint Creek fire board meeting

The Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District Board will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22 at Station No. 1, 640 N. Washington St., Greenfield.

Prospect Christmas program

The annual Prospect Christmas program will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20. Everyone is invited to celebrate with the church during a time of readings, music and a children’s program. There will be a time of refreshments and fellowship after the program.

Prospect Christmas Eve service

The Prospect UMC invites everyone to a candlelight Christmas Eve service beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24. The church is located on the corner of SR 73 and Prospect Road in Berrysville.

Buford Christmas Eve service

The Buford Church of Christ will hold its traditional Christmas Eve candlelight service at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 24. Everyone is welcome. The church is located at 2457 SR 138 in Buford.

Christmas dinner for the needy

St. Benignus Catholic Church in Greenfield will offer free Christmas dinners to those in need on Christmas Day from noon to 2 p.m. Dinners can be picked up at the church at 218 S. Washington St. or can be delivered free of charge in Greenfield and the surrounding area. Call Corner Health Mart Pharmacy with your order or if you have any questions at 937-981-2454.

VFW fish fry

Hillsboro VFW Post 9094 will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry for $8 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Jan. 2. The menu includes fish, fries, slaw, hushpuppies and a soft drink. The event is open to the public.

Open Door free meal

The Open Door free meal at the Greenfield United Methodist Church will not be held in December. The next meal will be on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016.
