Greenfield CCCU Spring Revival

The Greenfield Church of Christ in Christian Union will host a spring revival April 6-10 at 7 p.m. Sunday school will be at 9:30 a.m., Sunday worship at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday evening worship at 6 p.m. The guest evangelist will be Darby Beekman with Casey McDaniels & Family as guest singers.

Historical fundraiser at Bob Evans

Bob Evans in Hillsboro will hold a fundraiser for the Highland County Historical Society on Friday, April 8 from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Carry-outs apply. The historical society will receive 15 percent of sales for the purpose of sponsoring events and activities at the Highland House. Indoor yard sale at senior center

A one-day indoor yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, April 8 at the Highland County Senior Citizens Center in Hillsboro. Stop and shop or rent a space. Tables and chairs supplied by center. Tables are $10 for members, $15 for non-members. There will be a live band and lunch available for purchase. The center is located at 185 Muntz Street. Benefit dinner for McCravy

A cancer benefit dinner for Brad McCravy will be held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, April 9 at VFW Post 9094 in Hillsboro. McCravy is a 34-year-old father of four children employed by Timbertech and a 2000 graduate of Hillsboro High School. He was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in January and is ongoing with chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. A dinner donation of $8 is requested. The menu will be homemade chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, and lemonade and iced tea. There will be a 50/50 raffle and other activities.

Paint Creek board meeting

The Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District will hold a regular board meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 at Station 1, 640 N. Washington St., Greenfield.

PERI meeting

The Highland County Chapter of Public Employee Retirees Inc. will meet at 10 a.m. April 14 at the Highland County Senior Citizen Center, 185 Muntz St., Hillsboro. The speaker will be Patsy Baughn, associate for the Blind and Visually Impaired. All members and guest welcome.

Catholic Rural Life

The Catholic Rural Life of the St. Martin Deanery will hold its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14 at St. Mary’s church hall in Arnheim. On the agenda are planning for a Year of Mercy outdoor walk on Oct. 23 at the Brown County Ursulines and a visit to our rural area by a group of young people. The meetings are open to anyone who shares the goals of bringing a Christian perspective to life in rural areas, preserving rural heritage and working to promote dialogue between rural and urban leaders. HCCAO Job and Training Fair

The Highland County Community Action Organization Inc. has announced its upcoming OhioMeansJobs Highland County Spring Job and Training Fair on April 15 from 11 a.m.to 3 p.m. The booth space is at no charge with table and chairs included. Highland County Church Woman United will meet at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 15 at the Hillsboro First United Methodist Church, 133 E. Walnut St. All church women are welcome.

Marshall School Committee dinner

The Marshall School Committee will hold a roast pork, baked steak and Italian chicken dinner at the Marshall School Gymnasium from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, April 16. The menu will also include mashed potatoes, green beans, salad bar, rolls, desserts and drinks. A freewill donation will be accepted. A theme-basket silent auction and 50/50 raffle will be held throughout the evening. All proceeds will be used for the renovation and upkeep of the Marshall School Gymnasium. Losse Thread Quilters Show

The Loose Thread Quilters will celebrate its five-year anniversary with its 5th annual Quilt Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 16 at the Peebles United Methodist Church, 1370 Measley Ridge Road, Peebles. Bed furnishings will be on display from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be how to make a quilt and one-on-one demonstration, a trucnk show and door prizes every hour.

Running With The Pack 5K

A Running With The Pack 5K walk, run or roll at Liberty Park in Hillsboro will be held Saturday, April 23 to benefit Hillsboro Cub Scout Pack 37. Registration is $25 and begins at 8:30 a.m. The event starts at 9 a.m. Contact Wendy at 937-218-1973 for additional information.

Red Hat Society Spring Fling

The local Red Hat Society will host its annual Hillsboro Spring Fling from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 26 at the Highland County Senior Citizen Center, 185 Muntz St., Hillsboro. The event is for Red Hat members only, but if you are interested in becoming a member you can register at the door for $20. For more information call 937-403-6424.

Candle fundraiser for shelter

The Highland County Homeless Shelter has teamed up with Camelot Farms Candles for an April fundraiser. Orders are due by April 30 and order forms can be sent to [email protected].
