Aunt B’s Dress & Tayloring LLC, a new family-owned business located at 6243 SR 138 in Hillsboro, will hold a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 28.

“We are dedicated to providing you with the most affordable dress for your special occasion. We also provide the service of alteration and custom-made clothing. Aunt B’s was started because of a dream. I have always thought it would be awesome to work in a dress shop. When our local dress shop went out of business, it was time to make this dream come true,” owner-operator Vanessa Turner said in a news release.

The business is located just out of town on the family’s farm.

Turner said she has been sewing for at least 18 years as the result of a trait passed down from her grandma. She said she has sewn many things, from a night gown set to a prom dress to a coat.

“After seeing my sewing talent in 2012, my husband has wanted me to pursue this avenue,” Turner said. ” After a few life changes at the beginning of 2016, I finally gave into the idea. We both have worked extremely hard to make this dream be a reality. I have worked very hard to keep cost down so that you can have a beautiful dress without going broke.”
