Schools should pause for prayer

To the editor:

If there ever was a time that children needed to learn how to pray to the God of heaven, it is the time we are living in today.

In the state of Florida, the governor actually signed a bill that requires each school to have a moment of silence and prayer and I think it should be required in every school, whether it is public or private. Most children today have no way of learning about God and prayer and school used to be the only source they had to introduce them to both. Children should have the opportunity to learn about God and if school is the only way, I am all for it.

Prayer should be instilled in their hearts at an early age and is something that shouldn’t be taken for granted. I believe that every school should pause for a moment at least once a day for a time of prayer. If they did, the world would be a better place.

Sincerely,
