Hillsboro High School welcomed back rival South Central Ohio League (SCOL) rivals for day two of the SCOL track and field championships on Thursday.
The meet which took place over two separate days featured the top athletes from all eight SCOL track and field teams.
Day two of the meet featured the finals of the track events after preliminary races that were held on day one. The girls pole vault, long jump, and discus; along with the boys high jump and shot put field events were finalized on day two as well.
Jeremy Hayton of Hillsboro placed first in the boys high jump event by clearing a height of 6-04.00.
Chayden Pitzer of McClain placed first in the girls 100-meter, 300-meter hurdles, and second in the 200-meter dash.
Landry Gray of McClain placed first in the boys 300-meter hurdles and second in the boys 110-meter hurdles.
Jensen Knaff and Tristan Pitzer both of McClain placed second and third respectively in the boys 100-meter dash. T. Pitzer also finished third in the boys 200-meter dash.
The 4×100-meter relay teams from McClain and Hillsboro finished first and second, with McClain coming from behind on the last leg to take the victory.
The girls 4×100-meter relay team from McClain placed first thanks in large part to the powerful last leg run by C. Pitzer.
Dion Burns and Draven Stodgel both of Hillsboro finished second and third respectively in the boys shot put event.
Jaeleigh Hart of Hillsboro was second in the girls 400-meter dash.
Hillsboro’s girls 4×200-meter relay team placed third.
Trevor Newkirk of McClain placed third in the boys 400-meter dash.
The boys 4×200-meter relay team from Hillsboro placed third. The 4×400-meter relay team also of Hillsboro placed second.
The 4×800-meter relay team from McClain placed third. Owen O’Connor also of McClain placed third in the boys discus competition.
The girls teams from McClain and Hillsboro placed fifth and sixth respectively with point totals of 59 for McClain and 53 for Hillsboro.
The boys team from Hillsboro was second in the overall standings with 119 points and McClain was fourth with 90.50 total points.
