3rd Annual Twilight Glow Run

The Fairfield Athletic Boosters will be hosting the third annual Twilight Glow Run at the Highland Co. North Joint Fire & Ambulance Station in Leesburg on Friday July 28 with registration starting a 7 p.m. Kiddie Dash at 8:30pm Ages 5 and under. Entry fee of $5.00 includes glow necklace. No pre-registration.1 Mile Race at 9:00pm $20 pre-registration includes glow necklace and t-shirt. 5K Race at 10:00pm $20 pre-registration includes glow necklace and t-shirt.

The fee for registering after July 17 is $25. Participants can pre-register on registrationspot.com, must be registered online or received by mail on or before Monday, July 17 to guarantee t-shirt. 8U Ironmen Midwest Tryouts in July

The 8U Ironmen Midwest (sponsored by Nike and Powered by Easton) have scheduled tryouts this year for Thursday July 27 and Sunday July 30 at 6:30pm. Players cannot turn 9 before May 1st, 2018. Tryouts will be held at the Lynchburg Old School Park, 330 Pearl Street, Lynchburg, Ohio 45142. Please bring your equipment to the tryout.

Hillsboro High School Boys Golf Tryouts in August

Hillsboro High School will be having tryouts for the 2017 boys golf team August 2 and 4 at 4:30 p.m. at the Hillsboro Elks Golf Club. This tryout is for boys that will be in 9-12 grade for the 2017-2018 athletic year. Please have your athletic sports physicals completed prior to attending.

8th Annual Alumni HHS Basketball Golf Scramble

The Hillsboro High School basketball program will host the 8th annual alumni HHS Basketball Golf Scramble on August 5 at the Elks golf course in Hillsboro. Tee times are available for 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The cost will be $200 per team to participate. Hole sponsorships are available.

Team and skill prizes will be awarded. There will also be $10,000 hole-in-one prize. Lunch and dinner appetizers will be provided and there will be a social gathering at the Elks Lodge following the event.

6th Annual Veterans Golf Outing

The Highland County Veterans Honor Guard and Hillsboro Elks 361 will host the sixth annual Veterans Golf Outing on Sunday August 13 at the Elks Country Club in Hillsboro. The event will start at 12:00 p.m. with an Honor Guard Memorial Service and tee times will start at 1:00 p.m.

The outing will feature three divisions competing simultaneously; veterans open foursome (with at least two veterans), open foursome, and all female foursome. The cost to participate in the outing will be $200 per team (food, snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks provided) and hole sponsorships are available at $50 per hole. All proceeds benefit the Georgetown Veterans Home. Make checks payable to the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard.

The outing also offers skins, hole prizes, 50/50, and a raffle. There will also be awards for getting closest to the pin, the longest putt, and first and second place plaques for all three divisions. Sign up at the Elks Pro Shop by calling 937-393-3047.

Highland County Board of DD Unified Special Olympics slow pitch softball tournament

The Highland County Board of DD will host a Unified Special Olympics slow pitch softball tournament this coming Saturday, August 19. The tournament will start at 9:30am at Liberty Park. Highland County, Fayette County, Fairfield County, and Madison County will be the teams participating in the tournament. The tournament is open to the public and admission is free.
