Hillsboro Lady Indians travel to Columbus to participate in Airport Golf Classic

The Hillsboro Lady Indians golf team traveled to Columbus on Thursday and participated in the Airport Golf Classic hosted by Granville High School. The team finished in fourth place at the tournament with a combined team score of 390 strokes over 18 holes.

Hillsboro junior Kristen Jamieson was the medalist at the event with a one over par score of 73. Jamieson has been stellar to start the season for the Lady Indians with medalist status in three events and a third place overall finish in the other.

Emily Loudin, a senior, had a strong 18 holes for the Lady Indians as she carded a 90, senior Madi Stratton also displayed the ability to post low scores as she finished with a 104, Larkyn Perry, a junior, rounded out the scoring for Hillsboro with an overall score of 123.

The Lady Indians were also represented at the event by freshman Mallory Parsons who shot a 123 and senior Abby Myers who scored a 136 overall.

Hillsboro girls golf head coach Dave Hilliard made special mention of Stratton when he said, “Madi Stratton also shot under 50 on the front nine. That marks the first sub 50 round of her golf career.”

Hilliard was also impressed with the overall play of the team and said, “The team score of 390 was our best in the three 18 hole tournaments we have played in. I was very pleased with the overall performance of the team.

The Lady Indians will be back in action on Thursday, August 16, when they travel to Buckeye Hills Country Club for a match against cross-county and Frontier Athletic Conference rival the McClain Lady Tigers.
