The McClain High School Tigers golf team started their season on August 4 when they travelled to Hocking Hills for the Logan Invitational. The Tigers will have a stretch of three home matches to end their season with the final match scheduled for September 12 when they welcome league rival the Washington Blue Lions to Buckeye Hills Country Club.

The Tigers will be led by a trio of juniors with Trevor Newkirk, Kobe Penwell, and Zane Mustard being relied on to post low scores for the team. The team will be coached by Brandon Streitenberger who returns to coach the golf team after 16 years out of the game.

When asked, what brought him back to coaching after such a lengthy period Streitenberger said, “Golf is a fun sport. I was just excited with the opportunity to coach again.”

“Our goals are to get better as the season goes along. We are a young team so we are focusing on improving from week to week.”, said Streitenberger.
