Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs volleyball preview

The Lynchburg-Clay Lady Mustangs volleyball team started their season on August 19 when they hosted the Lady G-Men from Georgetown and the Lady Grey Hounds from Manchester. The Lady Mustangs will visit the McClain Lady Tigers on September 27. Lynchburg-Clay will wrap up their season on October 9 with a home match against Blanchester.

The Lady Mustangs are represented by four seniors, two juniors, two sophomores, and two freshmen. The team is coached by Lynchburg-Clay athletic director Mark Faust.

After losing two four year starters from last seasons’ Southern Hills Athletic Conference division one championship squad Faust feels the team is in a good position entering the season. “They were foundations for us. They did a good job of building the program up over their four years.”

“If we can get comfortable with one another this year I think we can do well. It is going to take some time to develop that lineup and a routine for everyone.”, said Faust.

Th“We have very good defensive players on the team that need to get used to playing different positions this year than they did last year. Once we get comfortable with one another and our new positions I think we will do alright.”
