Fairfield Lions golf teams compete against SHAC foes on Wednesday

The Fairfield Lady Lions golf team hosted Southern Hills Athletic Conference (SHAC) foes the Peebles Lady Indians and the North Adams Lady Green Devils at Buckeye Hills Country Club on Wednesday.

The Lady Lions finished first out of the three teams beating the visitors with a 228 stroke score.

The Lady Lions were led by Rachel Schuler who shot a 44, Caitlyn Melson sho finished with a 55, Alexis Tompkins had a 56, and Mia Keeton carded a 73 to round out the scoring for Fairfield.

North Adams, led by Brooklyn Tolle’s 58, fired a team 256. Peebles, led by Nicole Burns’ 52, finished second with a team score of 253.

On Monday, Fairfield also defeated Lynchburg-Clay at Buckeye Hills. Schuler was match medalist with a 43. Tompkins and Melson fired 60’s. Makenna Lane added a 70.

The Fairfield Lions boys golf team was also in action on Wednesday as they traveled to White Oak Golf Course to take on cross county and SHAC rival the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs and the Blanchester Wildcats in a tri-match.

The Lions finished the match with a 196 stroke team score, good enough for second place behind the 186 that the Mustangs put on the board. Blanchester was third with a 220 on the day.

The Lions were led by Ryland Donley who had a 39, Wyatt Willey who finished with a 49, Bryson Simmons and Brandon Vidourek posted scores of 54.

The Lady Lions are scheduled to be in action again on September 13 when they travel to Hilltop Golf Course to take on the Lady Green Devils.

The Lions boys golf team is scheduled to travel to Snowhill Country Club on Thursday to take on the East Clinton Astros.
