Fairfield boys advance to state; Colwell advances for ladies

Fairifeld High School’s Lions cross country team traveled to Pickerington on Saturday to participate in the regional cross country meet.

The Lions secured a place at the state meet with a first place finish at the regional meet.

The Lions were led by Noah Richmond and Matthew Mangus who finished second and fourth respectively.

Fairfield also placed all seven of their runners in the top 50 at the event.

The Whiteoak High School junior duo of Hunter Morgan and Atlee Carr finished 72 and 79 respectively.

Ciara Colwell, representing the Lady Lions, finished eighth in the girls race with a time of 20:05.94 to earn a place individually at the state meet.

State qualifiers will travel to National Trail Raceway on Saturday, Nov. 5, to participate in the state cross county meet. Girls D III are scheduled to run at 11:00 a.m. Boys D III are scheduled to run at 1:30 p.m.
