Lynchburg-Clay alumni Peyton Scott returned home on Saturday, Dec. 28, to have her numbers retired as a Lady Mustang and to be recognized for her accomplishments in soccer and basketball from 2015 to 2019.

Scott has 2202 points total, 810 rebounds, 424 assists, 78 blocks and 377 steals during her high school basketball career.

During 2015-2016, Scott was honored with S.H.A.C. All-League, District 14 Coaches Association 2nd Team, and Associated Press Southeast All-District 3rd Team.

For 2016-2017, she had S.H.A.C. All-League honors once again, District 14 Coaches Association 2nd Team, Associated Press Southeast All-District 1st Team, and Associated Press All-Ohio 3rd Team.

In the 2017-2018 season, Peyton recieved S.H.A.C. All-League, S.H.A.C. Most Valuable Player, District 14 Coaches Association 1st Team, Team Most Valuable Player Award, Ohio Preps Sportswriters Association Southeast Ohio All-District 1st Team (formerly the Associated Press All-District), and Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association All – Ohio 2nd Team.

Peyton Scott finished out her remarkable high school career in 2018-2019 by receiving numerous awards such as S.H.A.C. All-League, S.H.A.C. Most Valuable Player, District 14 Coaches Association 1st Team, District 14 Coaches Association Player of the Year, Team Most Valuable Player Award, Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association Southeast Ohio All- District Player of the Year, Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association Southeast Ohio All- District First Team, Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association All – Ohio 1st Team Division III Academic All – Ohio Team, 2019 DIII OHSBCA (Coaches Association) Player of the Year Award, Lynchburg – Clay High School All – Time Leading Scorer (girls & boys) 2202 career points, Lynchburg- Clay High School Single Game Scoring Record 45 points, and District 14 Representative for North/South Game where she received MVP.

Scott had a exceptional soccer career having 128 goals and 44 assists in four years and the Lady Mustangs went 65-10-1 and was undefeated in the Southern Hills Athletic Conference.

“It’s amazing what she has done and she is going to continue to do as a player.”

“We are very previleged to have her numbers up on that wall and we are happy to have had her at Lynchburg-Clay.” said Coach Whitney Lewis

Miami University is her home now as she starts as a freshman for the Lady Redhawks basketball program averaging 29.5 minutes a game and 13.2 points a game.

Peyton Scott and the Miami University Lady Redhawks will be hosting Tiffin University on Dec. 31 at 2 P.M.
