The Whiteoak Wildcats scored three runs in the first inning then rode their pitching and defense Tuesday to a 5-1 Southern Hills Athletic Conference victory over Fayetteville in Mowrystown.

With the win the Wildcats improved to 3-2 in the SHAC and 7-6 overall.

“Quality starting and relief pitching from Luken Roades and Ian Griffith helped secure the victory,” Whiteoak coach Chris Veidt said. “Luken was also very productive for us offensively with four of five quality at-bats and four stolen bases. Ian was four for four in quality at-bats with two RBI. Landon Barnett chipped in two hits and three stolen bases. We stole 16 bases as a team today. Our outfield played excellent defense.”

Barnett had two hits and Roades, Carson Emery and David Kennedy each had one hit.
