The Lady Mambas, a Hillsboro area fifth grade AAU select team, finished as runner-up in the Superhero Slam Tournament in Franklin recently. Pool play was Friday (26-10 win over B2E Stapleton) and Saturday (23-21 loss over STORM 2029). Sunday started tournament play with Hillsboro beating KBA-Andress in the first game, 28-2. In the second game of tournament play Lady Mambas were on fire and defeated STORM 2029, 19-12, which earned them a spot in the championship game. They played a tough Lakota Flight team in the championship game and were defeated, 43-13.
