Indians come up short in Wilmington

The Hillsboro Indians fell short on Friday as they traveled to Wilmington for a South Central Ohio League matchup with a final score of 49-7.

The Hurricane of Wilmington was able to score on their first drive on a 44 yard drive that ended in the touchdown to make it 7-0 with 9:57 to go in the first.

Hillsboro tied the game on its own scoring drive capped off by a six yard dive into the corner of the endzone by quarterback Hunter Chain. Deon Burns evened the score 7-7 with the PAT.

Unfortunately for Indians’ fans, it was all Hurricane after that. Wilmington finished the first quarter with 28 points en route to the 49-7 victory.

The Indians were held threatened again in the third quarter but the ball a pass was intercepted at the six yard line to snuff out the threat.

Hillsboro will be back on the road next Friday and go up against another SCOL opponent in Chillicothe. That game is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
