It was a peaceful night in Chillicothe with a light breeze and a chill in the air as the McClain Tigers tried to pick up their first win over the Cavaliers Friday night.

Chillicothe was coming off a close call with Hillsboro the week before, having to score a last quarter touchdown to pull ahead 14-6 to win the game, but Friday night was anything but close as McClain failed to stop the Cavalier runs and lost the game with a final of 70-7.

McClain got the ball to start the game and went three and out and was forced to punt. On Chillicothe’s first play of their series they ran the ball 52 yards to crack the scoreboard first and it was 7-0.

McClain couldn’t get anything going on their next series either and was once again forced to punt and this time, the Cavaliers rand the ball back 68 yards for the touchdown but it was brought back because of a personal foul on Chillicothe. The very next play, they were able to repeat the formula again, going 68 yards on the ground to score the touchdown and with no flags on the play, it was 14-0 Chillicothe.

The only score for McClain in the game was an impressive 43 yard run by runningback Alex Hollar at the start of the fourth quarter but by this time the game was well out of hand with a score of 56-7.

The Cavaliers were able to add two more touchdowns before the end of the game and the final was 70-0 in favor of Chillicothe.

Chillicothe remains unbeated in the South Central Ohio League with the win with a record of 5-2 overall and 4-0 in the league.McClain, still looking for its first win is now 0-7 overall and 0-4 in the SCOL and will play their last three games at home starting with Washington next Friday.
