SCOL holds league meet

The South Central Ohio League held its league meet on Thursday night with eight boys teams competing and four girls teams.

Wilmington was the winner for boys side of things coming in with a low score of 49. Hillsboro came in at second with a score of 58. McClain was eighth with a score of 234.

For the girls, there was no overall league winner since there were only four teams. By league rules, a sport must have five teams competing for an official league title to be awarded. Washington was the lowest scorer with 35.

The first five girls and first eight boys finishers received All-SCOL honors. Hillsboro had three on that list with Reaghan Haines finishing fifth for the girls, Mackenzie Conlon finishing fifth for the boys and Zach Middleton finishing sixth.

For the Hillsboro girls, Reaghan Haines finished fifth with a time of 22:13.8; Caitlin Foley finished 13th with a time of 24:01.7; Madi St. Clair crossed the line at 25:38.9 for a finish of 20th; and Emily Young finished 25th with a time of 26:33.9.

McClain’s lone Lady Tiger finished 31st with a time of 29:06.4.

There were a total of 35 girls runners.

In the boys race for Hillsboro, Mackenzie Conlon finished fifth with a time of 18:19..6; right behind him was Zach Middleton coming in at sixth with a time of 18:25.0; Micah Pinney finished 10th with a time of 18:52.8; Ty Alexander finished 11th with a time of 18:54.2; Justin Scott came across at 20:14.8 for a 26th placing; Bailey Lucarello finished 37th with a time of 21:25.9 and Fred Green rounded out the pack with a 79th place finish with a time of 31:28.1.

For McClain, Jacob Badgley finished 53rd with a time of 22:51.1; Jacob Roeder came across at 23:04.2 for a 57th finish; Michael finished 60th with a time of 23:48.9; Kaleb Harper finished 63rd with a time of 24:13.1; Noah Scott came across at 24:51.7 for 69th; Ryan Wilkin finished 70th with a time of 25:01.7 and right behind him was teammate Seth Cross in 71st with a time of 25:07.6.

There were a total of 80 runners in the boys race.
