Fairfield XC teams heading to regionals

Both the Fairfield Lady Lions and Lions cross country teams are heading to the regional cross country meet this weekend after the Lady Lions finished fourth in the DII district meet with the low score of 93 points. Their closest competitor was Adena with 113.

The Lions cross country team won their district meet on Saturday with six of their runners in the top ten and finishing with a low score of 24 points, well ahead of Rac. Southern who had 86.

For the girls, Megan Gragg was their top finisher with a 11th place finish and a time of 22:42.0; Alexis Swisher finished 13th and came across at 22:56.9; Sammi Shepherd was 25th and ran a 24:53.6; and Meadow Cunningham finished 40th with a time of 26:32.2.

For the Lions, they had the second overall placer, Matthew Mangus with a time of 16:56.7. He was followed by Noah Richmond, 4th, 17:09.8; Andrew Davis, 6th, 17:20.9; Trent Swisher, 7th, 17:31.7; Austin Setty, 9th, 17:41.1; Dillion Burley, 10th, 17:43.7; and Wyatt Evans, 11th, 17:53.8.

Both teams will be competing in the regional cross country meet this Saturday at Pickerington High School North at 11 a.m.
