The Whiteoak Wildcats will look to pick things up and improve on a dismal 1-20 record from a year before. Jeremy McGraw will once again take over reigns as head coach and likes the way his team looks this season and says they will have to use what they have to their advantage to be successful this season.
“I like our program as a whole,” said McGraw. “They are hard working young men and are eager to get better and learn. We’re not going to make any drastic changes from what we did last year. These guys know what we have to do defensively and offensively to be successful and as far as offense, we may try and get up and down the floor a little more compared to last year.”
Coach McGraw also knows that their league will not be any easier to play in than it was last year.
“Our league will be pretty tough,” said McGraw. “We will have to be ready to play night in and night out.
” We will also have some good non-conference games that should be very competitive.”
“We have more speed than size this year and have to use that to our advantage. With not having very much size we will have to play bigger than we are to compete.
“We do not really have a vocal leader but we have a couple of seniors in Brandon Ashbaugh and Kyle Marler who lead by example and do a very nice job. Chase Carraher, Jacob Burns and Cody McClure are three more players that I will ask a lot of night in and night out.”
The Whiteoak Wildcats will kick off their season at home on Saturday, November 28 with a contest with Felicty.
