Mustangs recover from slow start over Bearcats

The Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs boys basketball team is heading into Christmas with a perfect record after beating Paint Valley on Tuesday night, 71-55.

The Mustangs got off to a slow start and were outscored by about double in the first quarter, 24-13.

In the second quarter, the Mustangs clamped down on their defense and allowed only 14 total points in the second and third quarters combined while they were able to tally 42 points in that same span.

The Bearcats outscored the Mustangs in the fourth and final quarter, but only by one, allowing Lynchburg to keep its sizable lead and win the game with a final of 71-55.
