On Saturday, January 2, the Hillsboro Bowling teams traveled to Chillicothe to take on teams in a baker bash.

For the boys team, they led with an impressive score of 3149 after a 16 baker game qualifying round, earning them the number one seed. The closest team to the Indians was Zane Trace, which fell well short of the Hillsboro team with a score of 2948.

In the elimination round, it was best of three baker games to advance and the Indians beat both Logan Elm and Chillicothe, winning the first two games in each matchup to advance to the finals.

In the finals the Indians won the first games, dropped the second, but rallied back in the third game and brought home the championship.

The Lady Indians also fought hard to win over the number one seed in their tournament, fighting off Miami Trace and Zane Trace.

The Hillsboro girls also made it to the finals game and went up against Washington. The girls, same as the boys, won their first game and lost the second. In the third and deciding game, the Lady Indians fought hard to beat the Washington team by two pins to win the championship.

“Overall, it was a good day,” said bowling coach Jeff Miller. “For the coaching staff we are very please with the performance and over all poise of both teams today. They all faced adverse lane conditions and still found a way to dig deep and win. We have a long way to go and we have to set our sights on our schedule for this week and next. We have a tough road, but we are extremely talented on both boys and girls side.

With the wins, the boys stretch their winning streak to 14 games with a 14-0 record. The Lady Indians are now 13-1 on the season.
