Jackson heading to Air Force

Former McClain High School graduate Dante Jackson has joined the men’s basketball coaching staff at Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Coloarado.

Jackson, a 2011 graduate of Xavier University, started his coaching career at Ohio University as a graduate assistant under John Groce, now the head coach at Illinois. Jackson helped the program to the 2012 Mid-American Conference Championship and advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Following a one-year stint with the Bobcats, he returned to Xavier and spent the two seasons as a graduate assistant under head coach Chris Mack.

On the bench at Xavier, Jackson helped the Musketeers finish third in its inaugural season in the Big East Conference and made an appearance in the semifinals of the league tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York. Xavier also earned an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament.

As a player at Xavier, Jackson played in 137 games, which ties as the most in program history. He is also second in school history with 107 wins and seven NCAA tournament victories. He amassed 795 points, 374 rebounds and 255 assists during his career.
