Lady Tigers win Spike and Dig

The McClain Lady Tigers volleyball team took the Spike and Dig trophy away from Hillsboro on Saturday as they defeated the reining champs two sets to one.

Three teams participated in 2016 Spike and Dig Tournament this year: McClain, Hillsboro and Lynchburg.

Hillsboro defeated Lynchburg in the first match of the day with a sweep with scores of 25-22 and 25-20.

The second match of the morning saw Lynchburg playing their second match against the eventual winners McClain. The Lady Tigers defeated Lynchburg in two sets, which moved them into the final with Hillsboro.

The Lady Indians were able to get a one-set lead after winning the first 25-19, but McClain was able to collect themselves and win the Spike and Dig by winning the next two sets 25-22 and 26-24.

Neither Fairfield nor Whiteoak was in the tournament this year. McClain junior varsity won the JV Spike and Dig.
