John Woodrow Adams, 67, of Greenfield, passed to his eternal reward Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016 at home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born April 28, 1949 in Johnson County, Ky., the son of Claude and Rosa (Conley) Adams.

He retired from Greenfield Research. He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, the outdoors and relaxing on the back porch.

He is survived by his wife, Samra (Helms) “Sam” Adams, whom he married Dec. 24, 1992; three brothers, Floyd “Butch” (Carol) Adams of South Salem, Charles “Rick” (Donna Owens) Adams of Waverly and David (Becky) Adams of Bainbridge; five sisters, Virgie (Bill) Montgomery of Chillicothe, Brenda (Randy) Vernatter of Chillicothe, Hazel Ingle of Bryan, Rose (Jeff) Mossbarger of Washington C.H. and Linda (Eddie) Justice of Greenfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Johnnie Adams Jr. and Kenny Adams; one brother, Jack Adams; one nephew, Austin Wells; and both parents.

A special thank you to his sister-in-law, Jean Helms; brother-in-law, Eddie Justice; and great-niece, Beth Kegley.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with pastor Mitch Salyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Bainbridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.
