OSHP conducts Georgetown OVI checkpoint


The Georgetown post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, with assistance from the Ohio Department of Transportation, Brown County Sheriff’s Office and the Mt. Orab Police Department, conducted an OVI checkpoint on U.S. Route 68 just south of SR 32 in the village of Mt. Orab on Saturday evening from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.

A total of 1,442 vehicles were checked, two vehicles were diverted and the drivers were checked for impairment.

Law enforcement conducted saturation patrols in the area of the checkpoint from 6 p.m. until 2 a.m.

A total of 13 vehicles were stopped and one driver was arrested for OVI.

Federal grant money supported the OVI checkpoint and saturation patrols.
