Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of April 16-22, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 266 911 calls, answered 158 requests for service, dispatched 115 fire and EMS runs, took 30 offense reports and investigated two traffic crashes.

At 7:04 p.m. on April 18 the sheriff’s office received a call from a Carlisle Lane resident reporting a subject causing a disturbance. A deputy responded to the scene and spoke to all parties involved. The argument was verbal in nature and those involved were issued a warning that if the problem persisted charges could be filed.

Deputies responded to a burglar alarm activation at a Loch Lomond Circle residence on April 18 at 9:15 p.m. The alarm company advised security camera footage showed four subjects attempting to gain entry into the residence. Deputies and a key holder arrived on scene and checked the premises. The residence checked secure.

A Cathy Court resident called the sheriff’s office at 7:37 p.m. on April 20 after returning home and discovering a burglary. Someone gained entry to the residence and stole eight firearms. A deputy was dispatched to the scene where an offense report was taken.

On April 22 at 4:11 a.m. the sheriff’s office received a 911 call from the 7000 block of Mad River Road. The caller reported being stabbed during a fight with his brother and needed help. Deputies and EMS personnel were dispatched to the scene to assist. William Henry Hall, 22, of Nevada, was arrested for one count of domestic violence. The Paint Creek Joint EMS/Fire District evaluated the victim at the scene, but he refused transport for further medical attention.
