Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Adams County Highway Maintenance Facility will undertake a series of single-day culvert replacement projects on SR 73 in the coming week.
Beginning Monday, April 17, and continuing through Friday, April 21, SR 73 will be closed on alternating days during daytime, working hours for crews to replace three deteriorated culverts situated at the 7.53, 3.36 and the 0.11-mile markers, respectively.
The first project site, located at the 7.53-mile marker, is between Seaman Road and SR 41 at Locust Grove, and weather permitting, the route will be closed Monday from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Then on Wednesday, April 19, SR 73 will be closed between Elmville Road and Horner Chapel Road for the second, single-day culvert replacement project. The closure will be in effect from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the route open to evening and overnight travel.
And finally, on Friday, April 21, crews will return to SR 73 to close the route immediately east of SR 770 and the Highland County line for the third culvert replacement project. This closure will be in effect from approximately 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., as well, and during periods of closure, traffic will be detoured by way of SR 32, SR 247 and SR 785.
Completion of each day’s project will be contingent upon the weather.
