Adena Health System has announced that Adena Home Health has again been named to the Top 100 of the 2017 HomeCare Elite, a recognition of the top-performing home health agencies in the United States.

For 12 years, HomeCare Elite has identified the top 25 percent of agencies; and highlighted the top 100 and top 500 agencies overall. This marks the second consecutive year in which Adena Home Health has earned this distinction.

“Every day, Adena Home Health caregivers bring the highest quality of care and compassion into the homes of patients in the areas we serve,” said Deborah Hanson, director of Adena Home Care. “This distinction confirms the commitment our exceptional clinicians, support staff and leadership have towards helping the people of our community live healthier lives.”

More than 9,000 agencies were considered in the ranking, with 2,268 being recognized on the 2017 HomeCare Elite winners list. The top agencies are selected based on an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, best practices implementation, patient experience (HHCAHPS), quality improvement and consistency, and financial health.

The ranking is developed by ABILITY Network, a leading information technology company helping providers and payers simplify the administrative and clinical complexities of health care; and sponsored by DecisionHealth.

“The team at Adena Home Health has demonstrated an impressive ability to deliver great patient care,” said Christine Lang, senior director for ABILITY Network. “This is due to the skill and dedication of their clinical professionals, as well as the proficiency and efforts of their quality team tracking, measuring and interpreting the data that supports the delivery of care. Together, they have earned this recognition as one of the top 100 home care agencies in the country.”

To be considered as a HomeCare Elite agency, the entity must be Medicare-certified and have data for at least three outcomes in Home Health Compare.

“Congratulations to Adena and those leading agencies that earned a spot on the list of the top 100 HomeCare Elite,” said Marci Heydt, senior content manager for DecisionHealth. “Adena Home Health and its peers have worked hard to improve quality outcomes, which is increasingly difficult as home health agencies faced increased regulatory burdens each year.”
