Highland County Sheriff’s Office reports

Sheriff Donnie Barrera reports for the week of May 14-20, the Highland County Sheriff’s Office received 301 911 calls, answered 146 requests for service, dispatched 142 fire and EMS runs, took 40 offense reports and investigated two traffic crashes.

The sheriff’s office received a report of a domestic disturbance at a Beatty Road residence at 7:13 a.m. on May 14. A deputy responded to the scene and spoke to the parties involved. The argument was verbal in nature and no charges were filed.

A deputy was dispatched to an Abernathy Road residence at 4:59 p.m. on May 15 to investigate a domestic violence complaint. A female at the residence was observed to have sustained physical injuries during an altercation. Kenneth M. Piersall Jr., 47, was arrested on one count of domestic violence.

At 3:43 p.m. on May 18 an Orebaugh Road homeowner called the sheriff’s office to report a burglary. The caller’s children arrived home after school and discovered their house had been entered and items had been stolen. An offense report was taken.

On May 20 at 2:43 a.m. the sheriff’s office received a report of a domestic dispute at a residence in the 12000 block of SR 124. Deputies were dispatched to the scene where they spoke to two brothers that had been involved in a verbal altercation. Neither wished to file a report and no charges were filed. Alcohol intoxication was attributed with being the cause of the argument.
