Board of Elections closing
The Highland County Board of elections will be closed Tuesday, June 19 so the staff can attend the Secretary of State Summer Conference. The office will reopen Wednesday, June 20 at 8:30 a.m.
Fairfield Board of Education
The Fairfield Local Board of Education has changed the time of their regular monthly meeting to 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 18 in the District Office Conference Room. The public is invited.
Dovetail Auction & Carnival
KAMP Dovetail will host its 11th annual Auction & Carnival at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 20 at the Rocky Fork State Park campground. They are open to the public. Community members can donate a craft, homemade item, or any other auction item to help raise funds for KAMP Dovetail. Bright Local Board of Ed
The Bright Local Board of Education has rescheduled the special meeting Monday, June 1 to Wednesday, June 20 at 5 p.m. The board will be going into executive session to discuss the evaluations of the superintendent and treasurer. After the executive session the board will hold a work session to review district policies and handbooks. The board will also address any other business that comes before it at that time. The meeting will be held in the Whiteoak Jr/Sr High library. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Bright Local Board of Education is Monday, June 25 at 7 p.m. at Whiteoak Jr/Sr School.
Banana Split Club for Kids
The Hope House Christian Counseling Center, 24 Water St., Sinking Spring, will offer a Banana Split Club For Kids where they will will learn how to deal with separation/divorce/new home, make two places your “home,” and deal with guilt or anger from 10-11 a.m. on the following Fridays: June 22 and June 29. HHS class of 1957 picnic
The Hillsboro High School class of 1957 will hold its annual picnic at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 23 at the shelter house at Liberty Park in Hillsboro. Table service, meat, water, tea and lemonade will be provided. Bring a dish to share. The Highland County Health Department will hold immunization clinics from 1-4 p.m. Monday, June 25 at 1487 N. High St., Hillsboro. Call the health department at 937-393-1941 for more information.
Southside Praise VBS

The Highland North Joint Fire and Ambulance District Board of Trustees will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 26 at 200 South St., Leesburg.
God and Country Rally
The Mt. Olive Church of Christ, 10021 Mad River Rd., New Vienna, will hold a God and Country Rally Sunday July 1 starting at 10 am. Activities of the day include: 10 a.m. – The Zugg Family Singers; 10:45 a.m. – honoring of military branches both veterans and active along with recognition of first responders; 11 a.m. – worship service with singing of patriotic songs; 11:30 a.m. – message by Russel Lieb; noon – traditional picnic lunch with games for the kids and Paradise Ice serving Hawaiian Shaved Ice. The emcee for the event will be Ed Brown from the Mt. Olive Church of Christ. All activities will be held outside, weather permitting (an indoor location is available on sight).
OMBTC hog roast, yard sale
The Ohio Mission Bible Training Center will have a hog roast starting at noon Wednesday, July 4 at Rocky Fork State Park North Beach. A plate with a side order and drink will be $5. There will be praise and worship music. The OMBTC, 6210 McCoppin Mill Road, will also have a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 5-7. Donations are being accepted. Fruitdale UMC fundrasier
The Fruitdale United Methodist Church will hold a fundraiser Sunday, July 15 starting after worship service at 11:00 a.m. It will serve a lunch sloppy joes, coneys, hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, several different types of dessert, iced eea, coffee, and pop (food is a free will offering). After lunch at noon there will have a White Elephant Auction (everything is wrapped up so you do not know what you are bidding on). Kenny Medley will be the auctioneer. Proceeds will go toward a room addition.
