Leesburg honoring first responders

0

Leesburg Mayor Freddie Snyder has proclaimed Saturday, Aug. 10 as First Responder Appreciation Day in the village as a way to recognize and thank local police, firefighters and EMTs for their dedicated service to the the community.

To thank and honor all Leesburg first responders, the Leesburg Heritage Homemakers Club will present copies of the mayor’s proclamation to each department and a special gift bag to each first responder. Those items will be presented at the Leesburg Festival before the block party on Friday evening, Aug. 9.

All local first responders received invitations and are asked to come to the festival stage area behind the firehouse at 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 9.

The Leesburg Heritage Club was organized in 1982. It meets monthly for fellowship and to raise funds for various needs of the community.

The Leesburg Festival will be held Aug. 9-10 in the area of the Leesburg firehouse. Information about all of the activities at the festival can be found at Facebook by searching “Leesburg Festival.”
