The Highland County commissioners welcomed John Hemmings, executive director of the Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission, and representatives from various local communities into their offices Wednesday for a reorganizational meeting. Commissioner and outgoing caucus chairman Gary Abernathy told The Times-Gazette the purpose of the meeting was to review the various funding options that go through the organization. In so doing, he said, local governments can determine if they have projects that might qualify for grant funding. The group’s annual full commission meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 20 in Jackson County at the Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp in Jackson.
