Many thanks to all our patrons who participated in our summer reading program, Every Hero Has a Story, this year. We had over 260 participants and hope that all who joined us for the various programs and great books had as much fun as we did.

We want to say a big thank you to the following individuals and businesses for their support and donations. They truly were instrumental in making this year’s program so successful: Batter Up Bakery, Becky & Jeff Johnson, Chakeres Theatres, Chillicothe Paints, Cincinnati Reds, COSI, Crossroads Diner, East Ambulance, 5/3 Bank, Frisch’s Restaurant, Hardy Memorials, Heritage Club, Highland Lanes, Jani-Chem, Kay Simmons Insurance, Kings Island, Leesburg Hardware, Leesburg Market, Mane Street Salon, New Sabina Industries, Newport Aquarium, Ohio Renaissance Festival, Saucy Sisters, Small Town Gals, Southern Hills Community Bank, Star Cinema, Tecumseh, The Beach Waterpark and Weller’s Plumbing & Heating.

We also appreciate the following people who provided free programs or volunteered their services this summer: Ronald McDonald, Heidi Devine from ODNR, Dr. Tausha Barton, Keith Aukeman, Drew Hamilton, Matthew Leach and Annya Sheppard. We had a fantastic time at all of our programs this year.

Our final event of summer reading is our Super Heroes to the Rescue Art Exhibit/Cookie & Punch Reception on Monday, Aug. 3 from 6-7 p.m. Come and view all the entries in the contest and enjoy some refreshments. Winners of each age group will be announced at this time.

Edgewood Manor will be at the library on Tuesday, Aug. 4 to take patrons’ blood pressure. Stop in for a quick check up

Our Knit Together group continues to meet Thursday evenings at 5:30 p.m. Please join them regardless of your knitting expertise.

Join us for our book sale in the community room from Monday, Aug. 10 through Saturday, Aug. 15. Come and check out the bargains.

Our adult book discussion group, RRR meets on Thursday, Aug. 20 at 1:30 p.m. New members are always welcome.

There will be no story times for Wee Ones and Tater Tots during the month of August. Our story times will resume on Thursday, Sept. 17. We hope to see new faces as well as old friends on that date. Please call us for more information regarding our story time program.

We want to remind all students heading back to school soon that we are here to assist them with all their research and reference needs. Please stop in or call us, or you can visit us online at www.highlandco.org.

We hope you will enjoy the remainder of your summer days with great books from the Leesburg Library. We look forward to seeing you during the month of August.
