Lynchburg-Clay, McClain conclude girls golf season

The Lynchburg-Clay and McClain girls golf teams wrapped up their 2022 golf seasons with eight 10th place finishes, respectively, Monday in the Division II Southeast Sectional Tournament held at the Jaycee Golf Course.

A total of 18 schools were represented including 12 schools that entered full teams. Westfall was the winning team, shooting 356. The low individual was Riley McKenzie of Crooksville, shooting 75.

Five teams advanced to the district tournament: Westfall, Circleville, Southeastern, West Union and Manchester.

Five individuals not already part of those teams also advance to the district tournament: Riley McKenzie (Crooksville), Sydney Ater (Adena), Mary Helber (Zane Trace), Maggie Armstrong (Piketon) and Brynna Spencer (Piketon)

McClain shot a 492 as a team. The Lady Tigers concluded their season with a record of 19-28.

Individual scores for Lynchburg-Clay were junior Autumn Wilkin 105, junior Alexis Knisely 116, freshman Sarah McKinney 133, junior Miranda Smith 125 and sophomore Kira Stratton 145.

Individual scores for McClain were: freshman Kaylin Sterling 116, junior Jacolyn Bolender 120, senior Cariann Todd 126, sophomore Abbie Lovett 130 and senior Mackenzie Corbin 136.

Team scores were Westfall 356, Circleville 357, Southeastern 408, West Union 413, Manchester 418, Piketon 438, Zane Trace 449, Lynchburg-Clay 479, North Adams 480, McClain 492, Eastern Brown 530 and Waverly 543. Not fielding full teams were Frankfort Adena, Crooksville, Huntington Ross, Logan Elm, New Lexington, Peebles and Waverly.
