The first place winner in the 18-25 female age division was Samantha Fender and the second place in the division was Erin Clark. Although there were no men in the 26-34 age division, the first place female in that age division was Kelsey Bick and the second place female was Erin Walters. Brandon Haines was the first place recipient for the 35-49 age division and Brent Walters received second place in the division. Tara Beery received first place in the female 35-49 age division as well as first place as the overall female. Sara Horsley received second place in the division. Jeff Beery received first place in the 50-and-over men’s age division. Sharon Bick received first place in the 50 and over age division for the females, followed by Lisa Cannon.

This event could not have been possible without all of the help and support from the community, FFA members, Paint Creek EMS, and the sponsors of the event. The event was sponsored by S&S Contractors, Dr. Rex Chiropractic, Clark Family Dentistry, Holtfield Coffee Station, Kroger, Peebles, Lowe’s and Community Markets.

All of the proceeds earned from this event go toward the FFA Chapter’s Adopt-A-Family event. With this event, members of the chapter use the 5K proceeds to purchase Christmas presents such as hygiene items, clothes and toys for local families in need. With the help of this amazing community the Hillsboro FFA Chapter was able to have 91 individuals in attendance and was able to raise $1,581. This will help support several families this holiday season.
