Pet of the Week

0

The Highland County Humane Society Pet of the Week is Lucky, a 7-year-old female lab mixed bread. Don’t let her age fool you. She is full of energy, loves people’s attention and walks well on a leash. This girl is a real sweetie pie. The staff at the animal shelter thinks she is potty trained as she has never had an accident in her cage or her run. She was turned over to the Humane Society after her previous owner passed away. She had been an outdoor dog who was kept chained up. She would love to have a place to run and play. In the kennel she doesn’t seem to be fond of small dogs, but that could just be the shelter atmosphere. Come visit the shelter if you can provide a good home to Lucky or any of the other dogs or cats. You can visit the shelter at 9331 SR 124, Hillsboro. For more information call 937-393-2110. The shelter is open six days a week from noon to 5 p.m. and is closed Wednesdays. The shelter has lots of kittens up for adoption, too. The Humane Society’s next pet adoption event will be at the Farmers Market next to the Highland County Courthouse on Saturday, Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
