Tiffin Best of Best Tourney


Best of the Best Basketball will be hosting several basketball tournaments in Tiffin for boys and girls in grades four through eight. The Tiffin University Spring Shootout will e March 8-9. the Heidelberg Tournament will be played on March 22 and 23 and the Dragon Shootout will be held on May 17-18. Mowrystown Leo Club hosts event for Blind Awareness


The Mowrystown Leo Club will host A Night That Opens Your Eyes event this Friday in conjunction with the varsity boys Whiteoak versus Lynchburg-Clay basketball game at Whiteoak. January is Blind Awareness Month and students wanted to support the Foundation for the Blind by hosting this event. There will be a 50/50 raffle and $1 blindfolded foul shot. The crowd may also show their support by wearing white to the game for a “whiteout.” White is the color for blind awareness. Event T-shirts may also be purchased at the game for $10 each ($12 for XXL). For more information on how you can support the Foundation for the Blind, contact Jill Parr at 937-509-2984.


New Highland County Little League to hold registration


Highland County Little League, a new organization trying to get started this year, will hold registration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Leesburg Fire Department Community Room, 200 South St., Leesburg. A second registration date will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1 at Good News Gathering, 6250 U.S Route 62, south of Hillsboro.


There are leagues for boys and girls ages 4-18. The cost is $30 for a family’s first child and $15 for each child thereafter. For more information call Erik Luschek at 937-403-5249 or Tim Thuering at 937-218-4038.


Hillsboro and Lynchburg games rescheduled


The Hillsboro boys basketball game and both Lynchburg-Clay boys and girls games that were scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, have been rescheduled. The Hillsboro boys will play Clinton Massie this Saturday, January 11th, starting at 4:45 for freshman game. Both Lynchburg-Clay boys and girls basketball games will also be played this Saturday. Varsity girls will play at 6 pm and the varsity boys will start at approx. 7:30 pm.
