On Jan. 14 at 12:15 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department responded to a crash in front of U.S. Bank on West Main Street. Upon officer arrival, it was found that Tom Hudson, 79, of Hillsboro, operating a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban, was backing from a parking space and struck Kathryn Landacre’s, 34, of Hillsboro, 2011 Dodge Charger that was traveling eastbound on West Main Street.


Arrests and Citations:


Betty C. Lewis, 51, Winchester, citation, driving under suspension.


Ashleigh P. Myers, 26, Hillsboro, bench warrant.


John P. Willett, 37, Greenfield, bench warrant.


On Jan. 15 at 3:21 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call reporting a female shoplifter at Wal-Mart on Harry Sauner Road. Upon officer arrival, it was found that Sonya R. Cox, 32, of Greenfield, concealed several items of store merchandise. After reviewing camera surveillance the responding officer observed Cox removing items from displays and concealing them in her coat and purse and then exiting the store passing all points of checkout not paying for the merchandise. Cox was arrested and transported to the Highland County Justice Center. Cox is being charged with theft and is to appear in Hillsboro Municipal Court on Friday, Jan. 17, at approximately 8 a.m.

Daryl A. Semones, 36, Loveland, bench warrant, failure to appear.


On Saturday, Jan. 18 at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Hillsboro Police Department received a call of a traffic crash on North High Street and Greenfield Pike. It was found that Jacob Shelton, 28, of Hillsboro was southbound on North High Street driving a 1997 Ford. He was unable to stop before striking the rear of a 2011 Honda driven by Kevin Shacklock, 23, of Hillsboro, who was stopped waiting to make a left turn. Shelton was cited for assured clear distance ahead.


Arrests:


Paul Candill cited for possession of marijuana and arrested on bench warrant.


Brandy J. Tucker arrested on bench warrant.
