Two arrested following heroin tip

Two men were arrested Monday night following a tip to the Highland County Sheriff’s Office that one of them was in possession of heroin.According to Highland County Sheriff Richard Warner, the tip reported that Preston Cress, 24, of Hillsboro, had heroin. Upon arrival to the Careytown Road residence, deputies said they noticed Brandon Allen, 21, of Blanchester, place something under a blanket on the front porch.Under the blanket, deputies found 21 caps of a brown substance that later tested positive for heroin, according to Warner.Allen was charged with fourth-degree felony possession of heroin. According to the Highland County Justice Center website, he is scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsboro Municipal Court on Wednesday.

 

Hillsboro wins on Volley for a Cure night
