Hillsboro Indians host Jackson Ironmen on Tuesday at Elks

The Hillsboro Indians boys golf team hosted Frontier Athletic Conference (FAC) foe the Jackson Ironmen at the Elks Country Club in Hillsboro on Tuesday evening. The Ironmen beat the Indians by 44 strokes with the final team score being 187 – 231.

The Indians were led in in scoring for the nine hole match by Will Kiefer who shot a team low 46. Gavin Puckett was the next low scorer for the home team as he carded a 58, Hayden Miller stepped up for Hillsboro and shot a 63 for the day, and Lawton Parry was next for the Indians as he carded a 64.

Gabe MyCroft and Ryan Harless were also in action for the Indians on Tuesday and shot scores of 66 and 69 respectively.

Indians head coach Nathan Boatman after the game said, “Jackson did a great job getting it done on our tough course.”

Boatman continues to be impressed with the play of Kiefer who has been the low scorer for the Indians so far this year. Boatman said of Kiefer’s performance on Tuesday, “He did well for us, and he continues to strike the ball well.”

The Indians will be in action again on Thursday when they travel to Washington Courthouse to take on FAC rival the Washington Blue Lions at The Greens. Tee time for the event is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

The loss drops the Indians to even in FAC play at 1 – 1.
