Joyce L. Brewer, age 79, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, Aug.17, 2017 at her home.

She was born April 9, 1938 in Greenfield, Ohio, the daughter of Carl and Mary (Keaton) Patrick.

She was a former employee of Greenfield Research.

She is survived by five children, Connie (Gary) Pettiford of Greenfield, John (Lynn) Purdin of Washington, Tim Purdin of Greenfield, Tracy (Rhonda) Purdin of Hillsboro and Menda Brewer of Greenfield; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Taylor Brewer; two half sisters, Shirley (Mike) Hatten and Connie (Richard) Spires; three half brothers, Sunny (Janice) Patrick, Jim (Jeanie) Patrick and Carl (Rachal) Patrick; one uncle, Elwood (Barbara) Patrick; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Paul White of Greenfield.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, John Purdin and Edward Lee “Butch” Brewer; one brother, Kenneth Patrick; one sister, Carolyn Miller; and both parents.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with the Rev. Wayne Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Tuesday until time of the service at the funeral home.
