ACCIDENT

The police department investigated a crash in the 1500 block of North High Street. John Stoner, of Kettering, was traveling southbound in a vehicle on North High Street near the entrance to Liberty Park. Michelle Belfy, of Highland, was stopped in the southbound lane waiting to make a left turn into Liberty Park when her vehicle was struck by Stoner, who was unable to stop his vehicle in time. Stoner attempted to brake and swerve to avoid a collision, causing his vehicle to travel left of center and strike a third vehicle operated by Wyatt Condo, of Hillsboro. Minor damage was reported for both the Stoner and Belfry vehicles, while the vehicle operated by Condo received functional damage with air bag deployment and had to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported at the time of the crash. Stoner, 47 of Kettering, was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
