Sassy Sisters celebrates five years

While Sassy Sisters Boutique has only been in a storefront since last year, the boutique has actually been around online since 2018, and this week owner Chelsi Ertel is celebrating the boutique’s five-year anniversary.

Located at Posey Plaza, 228 Jefferson St., Greenfield, the boutique opened its doors there in July 2022. In December, the boutique moved to a bigger space in Posey Plaza. That move, Ertel said, has allowed her to expand her offerings.

The boutique offers women’s clothing, accessories and shoes, but the extra space means there’s more room for inventory and the opportunity to bring in some different items, she said, like adding Crossroads candles, wax melts, room sprays, and air fresheners back into the boutique. And the bigger space is one of Posey Plaza’s front spaces, which means Ertel has been able to decorate those big windows for each holiday and event, something that’s been fun for her and her customers. And, having one of the front spaces also means her shop is visible from the sidewalk and people can see what she has available even if the shop isn’t open.

In addition to the storefront and online, Ertel also has a trailer that enables her to move the boutique around to local festivals, fairs and pop-up events, too.

Ertel loves what she does and seeing her customers’ faces light up when they find “the outfit” fills up her heart. Watching them leave with a new confidence and a smile, Ertel said, reminds her of why she does what she does. “My job is to make each and every lady that walks into our store feel comfortable, loved and confident by the time they walk out.”

The boutique’s current hours are Tuesday and Wednesday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The boutique is closed Sunday and Monday.

“We have met so many new customers within the last seven months of being in the downtown area,” Ertel said. “We are feeling very blessed and hope for many more years to come.”
