KFC sponsoring FOB Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest

At this year’s Festival of the Bells, KFC is sponsoring and Homer the Dog is miscoding, the annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Contest on Friday, July 3 on the Highland County Courthouse front sidewalks.

All proceeds will benefit SATH-Kamp Dovetail. Adult donations (13 and older) are $25 and children (12 and under) are $10. The first place winner in the adult category will receive $150 and second receives $50. The first place winner in the children’s category will take home an assortment of fun prizes and gift certificates.

The contest will start at 9 a.m. and will conclude at noon at the front doors of the Highland County Courthouse. Each contestant will receive a four-foot square area of sidewalk and a box of chalk to create their own unique masterpiece.

This year’s mascot will be Homer the Dog, also the Highland County Chamber of Commerce mascot. Homer will be onsite July 3 to greet participants and will be available for pictures. Contact Maddie Cupp at 937-403-7386 or Linda Allen at 937-366-6657 with any questions.

Artist drawings judges will include Tom and Debbie Clemmons, Tammy Wells (retired McLane High School art yachter), Times-Gazette Publisher/Editor Gary Abernathy and Homer the Dog.
